Physical Therapy
Physical Therapists work with muscle groups and bones to help keep the blood flow consistent, manage pain, and keep muscle tissue from atrophying as a result of paralysis or during long periods of inactivity. Physical therapy can be helpful in patients with chronic muscle aches/pains, osteo-arthritis, or other physical impairments.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists help patients manage basic functions independently which may have been disabled due to MS, paralysis, arthritis or other impairments that affect basic motor functions. Occuptional Therapy helps patients transition back to independent living by helping their bodies re-learn basic skills such as manipulating doors and stairs, handling cooking implements or other hand-held items, and maneuvering in mobility assistance devices such as wheelchairs or walkers.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapists assist patients with relearning vocal communication through a pattern of training, memorization and repetition. Speech therapy can be necessary for those whose speech patterns are impaired due to brain or bodily injury, MS, Alzheimers, or other causes.
